Don't let him off the hook for point 1, either. Giving us free will is one thing, giving us impulses we can't control and imposing rules and coercing with fear and giving us laughably bad information to go on (informed consent not really a big moral priority in the babble) is hardly in line with free will.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
