Not the point. Muslims and Jews and Hindus and Buddhists certainly can and do accept PARTS of science, but like you, don't like it when science does not prop up your label.
CL you are a nice lady, but the truth for all religions is that scientific method itself is not a religion, but a process, and is not there to point to any label.
Yes you may personally accept science, but ignore it or get upset when it doesn't agree with your beliefs.
Both the birth and death stories, are impossible as the bible would imply, much less the other fantastic claims in that book. But again, every religion is full of superstition, mythology and claims that do not jive with science.
How is it when say Atlass33 tries to point to the Koran and claim it matches science you don't suddenly go "he got me, I will become a Muslim now".?
For the same reason you would rightfully reject it if I claimed, and truly believed that Thor is the cause of lightening.
Religious people having degrees in science exist under every religion in every nation. That does not say to me that one religion is true, that says to me humans have learned to compartmentalize to justify clinging to claims they have no evidence for.
The only thing I can give those who are religious credit for are those who accept science is when they keep their religion out of the lab. Religion has no place in the process.
