So which side is in the right?
City and state governments have decided that statues honoring slaveholders and white supremacists no longer represent their local populations. These statues are not historical statements but monuments of honor. Some of these cities have black mayors and city council members. We have fought decades for equality. Many have died and suffered to achieve even simple gains that many whites take for granted. I personally believe that statues of those that fought for equality deserve places of honor not those that were willing to shed blood to maintain white supremacist lifestyles.MLK, Frederic Douglass, Harriet Tubman (Now on our currency). These are faces most Americans would be proud to honor. That is why we have a National Holiday for Martin Luther King and not Jefferson Davis. These people are true patriots who elevated Thomas Jefferson's writings beyond his intentions to limit them to white men. Since then people of all faiths, races, genders, and sexual orientation have made costly progress.
As an American I do not understand why you , an Englishman, would consider an asshole carrying a Nazi flag a patriot. Did your empty head pay attention when your parents/ teachers taught you the word "blitzkrieg".
ISIS on the other hand believes in slavery. They blow up statues of pacifists like Buddha. I am not understanding your equivocation.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!
