Everything you need? Well, I presume you are very young person because there are much more stuff, that weigh far more heavily, than one's belief or non belief in influencing happiness, like: security, health, food, shelter, family, romantic love, and friendships. And as a polite and positive person who happens to be a nonbeliever, I have no desire to see anyone unhappy or lose something they depend upon as a source of joy. However I am convinced that people can be just as happy or even happier without gods. For instance if you look at the survey of the happiest people in the world you'll see at the top countries that are the most secular in the world. So we can hardly claim that god is the key to happiness.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
