As long as you were the one who initiated that as part of your doctor/patient relationship, I see no problem, either! But, I once had a doc who gave me a laundry list of instructions that ended with "And pray..." I didn't say anything but did post about it on this forum. I was somewhat put-off by it.
I'm fine with a doctor telling patients they are praying for them and that they are Christians, for me that's info I want to know. If they tell someone to pray for themselves they should at least know if that patient is a believer or not. If it happens again with a doctor just politely tell her/him you do not believe and go on with your life from there. I'm sure the doctor's intentions were good but a little presumptive.
