I always thought bards were cool as they can wear heavy armor and cast spells at a high enough level. They're kind of a jack of all trades.

I used to play an elf mage/druid.
Well I wasn't that good. In Darksun I was a Mul cleric. When it got to the point to escape the slave pens he wasn't strong enough to tear the half-giant hair bonds. Terrible I say! I even offered to heal the other PC's later if they helped me but no avail.
