Oh, 90% of that staff Apple will bring in from elsewhere. The other 10% is janitorial/administrative.
There are long term benefits to Data Centers, they pay a LOT in sales/franchise taxes to the utility. I don't think they're worth the massive tax break they were given. The only other benefit is attracting future business. Being near a data center has benefits for other companies as well.
