Changing from C3 to F3 is going a perfect fourth up a scale, B4 to D4 is going a major third down a scale, and so forth. So yes - all melody is going up and down one scale or another, by varied intervals.'
But that's not what I meant when I said what I said. What I was talking about is reading about it and it appearing to be talking about merely going up and down scales in a predictable way (meaning very uninspiring melodies would come out of it), that's what I meant.

And even if that's true - training has been known to cause a lot of injuries; that doesn't mean that people who don't train are better sportsmen. Sure, the less you know about what you're doing - the less self-conscious you are about it, so it feels better for you. The more you learn -
the more you realize how much more there is yet to know, which can be discouraging. It's just Dunning-Kruger effect at work.
Um, dude, I didn't make a thread here for you to debate me on my personal opinions and music taste. I just made a music thread and expressed some opinions, I'm not here to debate, there's nothing to debate. It's not a source I am interested in remembering, there are several sources and it's something I recognize and understand without anyone else stating it. My favorite musicians never learned any theory and I'm not particularly interested in learning any theory either. That's a personal choice, I'm simply not interested at the moment. I repeat, it's a personal choice, it's not up for debate. For you to ask for my source and speak of the "Dunning-Kruger" effect when we're talking about personal tastes and something I do merely for pleasure here, that's just fucking silly.

Um, because they said so? For example, Steven Wilson has said "Don't ask me about chords because I have no idea." for example.

I'm not presenting it as a "virtue" I'm presenting it as a personal preference. I'm not interesting in theory at least at this point.

Which I'm not trying to do now am I? (I'm definitely not interested in craftsmanship I'm interested in music from the heart) I'm just making sounds I like and sharing it with people.
I think it's really silly to come here debating me on this. That's just pointless. There's nothing to debate. I'm simply, personally, not interested.
