Not sure what your point is. How "inspiring" the melodies are is up to you. There's nothing about knowing scales, that forces you to "go up and down in a predictable way". Perhaps you should have read on...

And I expressed some opinions of my own. I fail to understand why it should ruffle your feathers, this being a discussion forum and all...

It's not a source I am interested in remembering, there are several sources and it's something I recognize and understand without anyone else stating it. My favorite musicians never learned any theory and I'm not particularly interested in learning any theory either. That's a personal choice, I'm simply not interested at the moment. I repeat, it's a personal choice, it's not up for debate. For you to ask for my source and speak of the "Dunning-Kruger" effect when we're talking about personal tastes and something I do merely for pleasure here, that's just fucking silly.
I don't see anything silly about applying Dunning-Kruger here. I understand you're getting defensive, because you've come to associate Dunning-Kruger effect with insults thrown at creationists, but it's something that applies to everyone in one way or another. You don't know how little you know about something, until you've learned quite a lot about that very thing. And without knowing all the options you have - it's much easier to feel satisfied with your choices.

Um, because they said so? For example, Steven Wilson has said "Don't ask me about chords because I have no idea." for example.
Maybe he's a genius. I don't know who he is. Or maybe he's a DJ. F*ck DJs...

I'm not interesting in theory at least at this point.
You must think there is some sort of virtue in ignorance, if you willfully choose it, as you say. Unless you're just trying to say it's too much effort and you can't be bothered - which is fair enough and I don't understand why you can't just come out and say that, instead of rationalizing it.
For example - I know next to nothing about fashion. Could I benefit from knowing how to dress in an attractive manner? Sure. Can I be bothered to learn? F*ck, no. But I'm not going to dismissively say, that I'm not interested in it, because people, who look most attractive to me - are naked...

Which I'm not trying to do now am I? (I'm definitely not interested in craftsmanship I'm interested in music from the heart) I'm just making sounds I like and sharing it with people.
That's pretty much what making music is. People you share your sounds with - they're your audience. And without adequate craftsmanship, the music coming "from your heart" is severely impaired by your limitations, before it can reach the listener.

Why is it silly? It's a discussion forum. You presented an opinion - I presented an opinion to the contrary. If that's "pointless", then why are we here?
