Hurricane Irma

Here, in Central, FL, we're hunkering down. I live in a HUGE trailer on a lake canal with a harbor, so my roommate, cat, and I are headed to my parents' house in the safest town in Florida. Work (a restaurant) is closed from tomorrow at 3 until, at the soonest, Tuesday morning. We have plenty of water, battery power, and food.

We should be fine, but pray for us anyway,you heathens!

Thanks, darlin'. Hunkered down at my parents' house with the roommate and cat. It's eerily calm outside right now. Just waiting for the thrill. I've been through fires, earthquakes, mudslides, and blizzards, but this will be my first hurricane. While I normally think of Governor Scott as kind of an idiot, I'm impressed with how he's been handling this shit.
