Franklin Township Ohio To Reinstall Confederate Monument

Just curious - how many monuments to other traitors who took up arms against the US are in Ohio?

There was a Confederate statue in an old civil war era cemetery for Confederate POWs on the westside of Columbus that was vandalized some weeks back. So I would imagine there could possibly be a few of them around. And as another poster pointed out some Southerners migrated North to look for work after the Civil War. And there's a lot of people here in the Central part of Ohio whose family roots are from the border states of Kentucky and West Virginia. My wife's side of the family, the Hatfields, fought for the South. My family's ancestry is from Kentucky. One of my great grandfathers served in the Union Army under General Sherman. I would imagine that the central and southern areas of Ohio, especially, has some Southern roots. I have family throughout the South in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, as well as in Kentucky. To many Southerners Confederate monuments are cultural icons to their roots and ancestry.

When the Cavs won the championship, that was just awesome. I've been following them since the rebuilding days. That was one of the cool things about being from Ohio.

Too bad for the Bengals and the Browns. Neither of those two teams have won a game yet. The Bungles and the Clowns. I haven't been watching much pro ball lately though.
