I'm being serious the characters in the bible are to me characters in a fiction no different to Harry Potter or Darth Vader. 
I have read the bible and it is a very poor read, the plot is poorly constructed and the characters in realistic.
Its riddles with contradictions just makes very little sense.
Try it yourself, sit down and read the bible from beginning to end, do not skip to your favourites or take bits out of context, just read it like you would any other book. it will open your eyes to just how shit it is.
