If it isn’t a bad wreck then why the fuck can't the parents get the kid out?
First off the 'first responders' aren't always the first on the scene. Every day citizens are there a lot and they have no training. Second it can be a more minor wreck but still knock someone unconscious. If it's on a busy road and the occupants need to get out they at least know with a glance they need to get into the backseat.
Like Losty said it's not necessary but it isn't hurting anything.
