Wiping out most of humanity is not love. Torturing people for eternity because they can't make sense of book full of contradictions is not love.

I disagree with your interpretation. If you think about it, the things you disagree with are the same things that led our world up to this point where someone gave birth to you and here you are telling me this, if those things didn't happen you wouldn't even be alive to type that.

So, if the bible says different things, depending on how you read it, it sounds useless for anything except a negative example to prospective writers.

If you read it like just another "book" it's just going to sound like any other book. The Bible is called the holy Bible for a reason. I read it without any prejudice and I agreed with it, I honestly don't know why the experience was different for you, to each his own I guess.

It's called holy because someone called it that.  No other reason.

So you read it without knowing anything about christianity?  Because there is no way someone can honestly read it and, through critical thinking (hell, thinking at all), come to the conclusion it is a true story.
