I sadly agree with you. Propaganda takes it's toll. I just had a conversation this morning with my bookkeeper. She gets a steady diet of right wing talk radio. She's not rich by any means and yet I couldn't make her understand that asking the rich to pay their fair share of taxes to help maintain society isn't "communism".
If the top 10% own 90% of the country, they should be paying 90% of our tax revenue. Those that own, pay to maintain. This is true of a condo complex or anything else where ownership is shared. People pay to maintain in accordance to how much of a share of it they own.
She thinks a "flat tax" would help address that problem.

This is just how effective right wing propaganda has been in America. Eat your heart out Pravda!
