Now we know the earth does move and now we understand what those verses mean to a greater depth. The verses are as true know as they were then, they have never changed and were/are relevant to different generations. There was no revelation of the earth standing still, the people of the time even non-Christians believed the earth was the center of the universe. You would probably have believed the same if you were alive then.

Luther had no qualms about appealing to the Bible as justification for his anti-Copernican stance, as did others. Why should I believe anything in the Bible beyond it being a poor source of history?
Pertaining to the verses we've discussed. Tell me can't you see how the Bible was relevant to Luther and others and relevant to Christians today even though science has shown us so much about the universe that they could not have known? The Bible was never intended to be a history book, it is a spiritual manual for Christians to live their lives by, and for the non-believer to find their way to God.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
