I'm from Portugal myself! Best. Country. Evah!
It doesn't mather where I come from. I could be from Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Spain, Chile, Portugal, Mexico or Nicaragua! My first surname is an uncommon surname that comes from a little town in northern Spain (in Navarre) that is in decadence because young people over there have abandoned it because they thought moving to bigger cities was a better idea. My mother's surname also comes from a town in northern Spain that is almost abandoned too (Aguilera, yes, like the famous singer Christina Aguilera, but I'm not from Peru and sadly La Aguilera town is a decadent town in northern Spain.) I posted my picture on the member's photo thread, so if you guess what country I come from you'll get a cookie.
Many people have said that I look as if my eyes came from the arab world, other people have said that I have an indian (from India) air about me. I don't give a crap. Many americans can trace their ancestry back to Italy, Germany, Poland, England, etc. Why would I care about where my genes come from? We all come from a common ancestor in Africa anyway. Although I'd like to visit my father's surname town, I feel something about it that makes me want to find out what life is like over there. That little town in northern Spain is so abandoned, it kinda hurts my pride. People over there are so humble and hard-working.
I've never been to Portugal, but I speak spanish and their language is very similiar to spanish. So I can understand 70% of what portuguese people say. I even tried to learn portuguese once, but I felt it was like a lousy version of spanish so I gave up (the only important countries that speak portuguese are Brazil and Portugal, so I guess it was a waste of time), so I decided to learn french instead because it's similar to spanish and french people are more liberal. Don't get me wrong, I think that Brazil and Portugal are amazing countries! I can relate to them because our culture is very similar. The iberian peninsula and their former colonies have so much in common (sadly catholicism too) that I think we share the same idiology and customs.
Whatever. Portugal is an awesome country! If I have to visit that country I'd learn portuguese in less than 6 months! I love Portugal and I feel related to them (and Spain and France too.) It's a pity I couldn't say the same for Italy, they harbor the Vatican and that's the source of all ignorance.
Portugal, Spain, France and their former colonies are such beatiful countries! We should make a romance speaking union! And that includes England and the USA because our culture is very similar. I love Europe, America and Latin America. If we could join forces we'd be the most powerful entity in this world. We share fo much in common I hope one day our governors realize that so we can bring peace all over the world.

It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
