Trump Administration bans CDC from using terms like "Science Based" and "Transgender"

Hard to imagine that it wouldn't have something to do with him. It might not be a directive straight from the man himself, but clearly from whoever he put in charge.

CDC and FDA are both under HHS. FDA has said that it received no such guidance.

"Hard to imagine" and an unnamed policy analyst aren't terribly convincing.

I mean, the lady who runs the CDC is a Georgia Republican who used to hustle anti-aging medicine. She didn't even do well at her job in Georgia. Hard to imagine that she'd have that job in another administration. You are right that "Trump orders CDC to..." is a bit misleading. But at the same time he could totally order them not to do that, and he's responsible for his appointments.
