Christianity is Dead, Long live the rEvolution!

I think numbers can be very deceiving in these cases, it depends on the questions asked.  in the U.K. for instance those who describe themselves of no religion now outnumber those who do

''The proportion of the population who identify in NatCen’s British Social Attitudes survey as having no religion, referred to as “nones”, reached 48.5% in 2014, outnumbering the 43.8% who define themselves as Christian – Anglicans, Catholics and other denominations. In 2011 the BSA survey found 46% identified as having no religion. The 2011 census gave a much lower figure of 25%, but phrased the question differently.

However in the census of 2011 (as stated above) more people identified as a Christian.

This brings us to the question 'what is a Christian' a decade ago for instance i would have been firmly counted within the Christian ranks, I went to church several times a week and was a very active believer, of course I'm told now by people on this forum I was never a Christian at all !!

So what is a Christian, is it someone who believes there is a god ? Is it someone who acts on their faith, and does not leave the religion ? (not something you could really measure till people die) certainly there is a massive gap between those who identified as Christian in the census and those who are active in the practice of those beliefs.

There is what is called cultural Christianity, those who are born into Christian families, but do not observe the faith in any meaningful way, In places like Africa for instance it's often that the Christian faith is intermingled with voodoo and local witch doctors practically making the faith unrecognisable by most westerners.  Even more frightening in this trend is that they see little difference between the addition of a mythical Jesus and their current practises.  They are simply adding another god just to be safe.
