Ex-Pope Benedict XVI blames 1960s revolution for sex abuse
Retired Pope Benedict XVI has published a letter which blames clerical sex abuse on the "all-out sexual freedom" of the 1960s.
He said that cultural and historical change had led to a "dissolution" of morality in Catholicism.
The sexual revolution in the 1960s had led to homosexuality and paedophilia in Catholic establishments, he claimed.

Of course, but this is the same Church who incorporated the stolen Obelisk Caligula stole from Egypt and put it in St Peter's Square.
Today's Catholic Church can argue all they want about how they are not criminals. But all they did in defeating the polytheists of Rome, was replace one mythology with another.

And it's because of the sixties that sexual abuse by priests goes back centuries...
Thise are some strong sixties influences!

So the sixties are to blame? Well he had 25 years to formulate a plan. However...
Text of 1985 letter from future Pope Benedict on California sex abuse.
Following is the text of a November 1985 letter, translated from the original Latin, signed by then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger to Oakland Bishop John S. Cummins.
Quote:Most Excellent Bishop
Having received your letter of September 13 of this year, regarding the matter of the removal from all priestly burdens pertaining to Rev. Stephen Miller Kiesle in your diocese, it is my duty to share with you the following:
This court, although it regards the arguments presented in favour of removal in this case to be of grave significance, nevertheless deems it necessary to consider the good of the Universal Church together with that of the petitioner, and it is also unable to make light of the detriment that granting the dispensation can provoke with the community of Christ's faithful, particularly regarding the young age of the petitioner.
It is necessary for this Congregation to submit incidents of this sort to very careful consideration, which necessitates a longer period of time.
In English: Cover it up. Baaastard!

Human beings need to fuck, Ben. This is what occurs when you suppress a person's sexuality. Go figure.

What? Catholic church puts blame on someone else instead of itself! How is this possible for such good, integrity filled organization to play "they made me do it" card? Unless they don't have any integrity and are just scam organization.

Yeah, like from 18th century autobiography "Confessions" by Jean Jacques Rousseau's when he was a kid in some Catholic educational institution surrounded by monks
Jean Jacques Rousseau Wrote:He resumed his caresses, but with such violence that I was frightened.
Finally he tried to work up to the most revolting liberties and, by guiding my hand, to make me take the same liberties with him. I broke from him – I was not angry for I had not the slightest idea what it was all about...as he gave up the struggle I saw something whitish and sticky shoot toward the fireplace... My stomach turned over.
I could think of nothing better to do than inform the authorities of what surely must be something sinful. The administrator accused me of impugning the honor of his sacred establishment for what was merely signs of affection, and that there was no reason to be upset just because someone found me attractive. He said that as a youth he had a similar experience – he did not resist and "found nothing brutal about it at all". He assured me it was not painful, and that I must remember that God made sex pleasurable so that his beloved children may frequently engage in the enjoyable experience.

It's an interesting hypothesis, one that would almost certainly be undermined if, for instance, there was anything like, say, a document from the church written before the sexual revolution that demonstrated that the problem was endemic to the church long before that, especially if it was more or less a restatement of another document written forty years prior. And it would be especially ludicrous if, Jah forbid, Ratzinger himself was the church's lead enforcer of this doctrine for twenty years.
As if, right?

In a way Pope is actually right: sexual revolution is to blame because after people became sexually liberated sex was not a taboo topic for discussion and therefore people talked about how priests and nuns raped them to the degree that even Vatican was pressured to do something.
I mean remember the age of pre sexual revolution in Catholic countries like Ireland, where young unmarried pregnant women had to give their newborn babies to nuns who frequently killed them and sold them - all because sex was a unspeakable shame.
