I have never not believed in God, so I can't identify with you there, but I have tested God on many occasions to see if he would communicate or react to my requests. I have been elated many times with the results. Only a few professed believers practice actual communication with God. In ancient Israel that ratio was at one time 1:32,000.
I have believed in God, for about 5 minutes. It felt good. I remember it well. I just don't believe it. It's not plausible to me.
I don't believe you have communicated with God, and believe there is a logical explanation, but it doesn't matter what I think about that. I think that's great that you have that feeling because it is a good one.
