If all you have to prop up your god is the storybook, then you lose the race at the first fence, because then you need to establish why we should take the storybook any way seriously. See, if we're talking about gods, pointing to mythology is a monstrous red herring. And I don't chase red herring. Swallowing the mythology uncritically is precisely the opposite of critical thinking. Remember the evidence filter?
That's it - the Bible is the claim.

"The Bible?"

As if there were only one. As if they all said the same thing. Please tell me that they do. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine.

Think about it. You’re going to spend eternity with a god who knows your thoughts before you think them and will hold you responsible for your thoughts even if you don’t act on them.

How long will you be happy in a situation like that?

The bible speaks of angels who left heaven and married women. These aren’t even the angels that rebelled with Satan. What was it about their heavenly experience that was so unsatisfactory they preferred to be with human women at a time when there was no Ivory soap or Right Guard?
It's not my conversation, so pardon my interuption, you are right about such a place being totally unsuitable for ordinary people. Luckily it's not true at all. Happy researching.

Everything I said is from "the" Bible
”Matthew 5:27-28King James Version (KJV)” Wrote:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

”Psalm 139 New Century Version” Wrote:You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know my thoughts before I think them.
”Genesis 6:1-6King James Version (KJV)” Wrote:6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
”Jude 6King James Version (KJV)” Wrote:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.
