Look, for the first time in my 48 years I find myself in the position of having to defend the intellectual capacity of my American friends. The other 95% of the world is reaching the conclusion that all Americans are versions of Cletus the slack jawed yokel. Perhaps you like that international perception, but it is not a good look and certainly does not apply to any Americans with whom I am familiar.
Before the Trump, conference calls were prefaced by some idle small talk, friends, family, world events, whatever. These days it is all "have you seen what the orange idiot in chief said/did now?". America is well on it's way to becoming the NorKor of the western hemisphere. A rogue state.
