I wouldn't either, had I said what you did, still....it seems to beg for some kind of lucid explanation. It would be great if it were just a disconnect.
I do not think that attending a local oversight committee, riding in a cruiser, or hanging out with cops....is a legitimate answer to the problems we are actively interested in at a national level regarding the institution of law enforcement. I don't think it would have the effect that you think it would, and if what you say is true then it would strongly suggest that we need a solution which doesn't depend on greater citizen participation in any of those activities suddenly manifesting itself.
