* Be honest
* Be sure to think before you act
* Harm no one who hasn't hurt you.
And, really, I think Rabbi Hillel the Elder (just barely a contemporary of Jesus; he may have been alive for the discussion in the temple) said it best: when asked if he could give a summary of Judaism while standing on one leg, he said: "That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the whole Torah; the rest is commentary. Go and study it." (Babylonian Talmud, tractate Shabbat 31a)
