Don't you think sacrifice and delaying immediate gratification can sometimes pay off and make you happier in the long run though?
Sure. There are conflicting impulses. I don't want to exercise. But I also REALLY don't want to get fat, have heart problems, and die in my 50's. I guess the way I presented it implied a lack of thoughtfulness. There'll be plenty of times short and long term goals are at odds. What's important to me, is that when deciding what I do is based on what I actually want and not 'other' stuff.
