If this were some random person coming into the thread calling people "White Knight"s... then fair enough. But I've already specified that I only use it to refer to people who actually do behave the same way that the term is intended to denote.
People will attach their connotations... but it's irrelevant when I've already stated that I'm referring to the denotation.
Like I said, if you can think of an alternative term for what I'm describing without the negative connotations then I'll be more than happy to use it. Until then, I'm more than happy to rationally compartmentalize the distinction rather than irrationally conflating it.
