Several years ago I heard a victim statement on TV. As I recall, the perp had murdered a child. The mother started off by quickly forgiving the murderer, and then she went on quite a while about how horrible prison was and while she had forgiven him, she'd oppose his early parole for the rest of her life.
There was a cold, steely edge in her voice I found REALLY scary. Hope it registered with the creep . . . . .
