I think the real question is not whether it occurs in nature. Lots of strange adaptive behaviors, like female spiders eating their suitors, occur in nature. But what is natural for spiders is not natural for human beings. The real question is not whether it natural, as in common place; but rather, natural, as in normative for human beings, to harbor certain desires and engage in specific behaviors.
(not to mention, well I guess I am, that according to Christian doctrine, we live in a fallen creation and as such animal behavior has also been corrupted by sin.)
