You know, if you squint at it in the early dawn light it -is- evolution, however unlikely that pathway might be..but also a complete defenestration of creatard objections to evolution, lol.
No matter what the descendants of elephants turn into they will always be elephants. Just as we are still the primates we ever were despite vast changes from then to now. We're still bony fish, too. We, like the hypothetical littoral assault elephants, have simply become many other things as well.
