However, the dogs didn't track her past the intersection, which could mean she was picked up. Also, she'd had to have been drunk or really scared to have done that. New Englanders tend to know better than to wander into the woods in New Hampshire in the winter. It's one or the other, but she definitely didn't run away from her family and start a new life. Also, don't believe all the bullshit negative stories about her. People have made up all kinds of shit. There's no evidence whatsoever that Fred hurt her or that she was pregnant. She was just a normal kid as long as I knew her.
I don't want to de-rail this thread. Feel free to start one on the topic, if you want to chat with moi about it.
Yeah I know about the dogs. There's been plenty of other cases where dogs didnt pick up much, and years later they find the person's body right there in the woods. The case of John Glasgow comes to mind. Using dogs is not an exact science. (Also, the gloves they used for her scent were brand new and hardly worn, so not much scent there)
I don't think she got into another car. She was only unaccounted for for 7 minutes, and if she refused a ride from the school bus driver, I don't see why she'd take one from some random stranger driving by. At least school bus drivers are more trust worthy.
Also, she asked the bus driver not to call the cops. She didn't wanna get caught having been drinking and driving (which she was) and having crashed yet another car.
To me, it seems clear she ran into the woods because she was hiding from the cops, had alcohol in her, and didn't wanna get in trouble... and just ended up dying in there. Maybe she originally planned on just hiding until she sobered up.
And yeah, she wasn't pregnant lol.

I'm pretty sure they used her running clothes/shoes, CL. They were in the trunk of the car. Also, she could have refused the bus driver and then went with a stranger because the bus driver was more likely to turn her in. It's one or the other. We can't possibly know for sure.
