Talk about being desperate. Not only was he not called Immanuel but this has been proven as the Hebrew "almah" (actually meaning "young woman") word wrongly translated into "virgin". The Hebrew language has a specific word (bethulah) for "virgin" but that is not used here.
Not only that but actual Christians admit this mistake and have actually corrected the translation, like in The Revised Standard Version (RSV)
