Seriously dude, you are deluded. The Republicans kept the Democrats out of the entire process, and the Democrats didn't even have the votes to make any meaningful impact either.

I'm not even a Democrat, I'm an independent, but even I can see which party actually gives a shit about proper governance and which doesn't.
