Minn, while our theocratic right is more prone to make attempts at using religion to write public policy, my friend and his wife are BOTH liberal Christians, he is far more willing to listen to me, but she on the other hand has herself pulled the "we are the majority" and "God is on our money" garbage. Sure, she may be more tolerant I see the same fear of being wrong in her that when I bring any questioning up, she will suddenly say she doesn't want to talk about it.
Liberals are far more likely to be accepting and protective of others, but I can tell you even with some liberals, as soon as you question them about their logic, even they can become defensive.
But this goes with every religion. Every umbrella label has sub sects that view the label and holy writing differently.
The danger in assuming only the right does this, is that it allows the left to give them cover when the left says, "Never blaspheme religion."
Point is, the theist fear of being wrong is not solely held by the conservative right.
