I can always hope for a surprise though.

I feel so sad when I think of all the animals who suffered or were abused, and then just died after having such a difficult and painful life. I want things to be made right for each one of them.
My reasoning is this: if I love animals enough that I *want* them to have an afterlife where they will live peacefully without suffering, it's hard to imagine God not feeling the same way. For as much as I love animals, He loves them more. He created them and is their Father.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
