The intent of the writers of those links were simply pointing out yet another type of tactic. If Russia is willing to use social media to spread lies and misinformation they are certainly capable of making attempts to influence the NRA, not to mention the NRA has been lying themselves for over 30 years. They might simply be reporting a new tactic at this point.

By calling these out maybe those attempts wont happen again. But you are stupidly assuming there was no ill intent in making this attempt.

Even with domestic crimes, the smart criminals know that pumping large amounts of money through a bank or org will raise red flags at the SEC and IRS.

Small amounts don't raise red flags, so it makes it harder and takes longer to detect.
