Sherif Gaber is prison for being a vocal Atheist & refuting the Quran openly using Youtube . Individual Islamists within the Egyptian government are doing their best to silence him by using other laws like sedition etc to lock him up for few years which they are successful. If this was Islamic Iran, Islamic Saudi or Islamic Pakistan, he would have been sentenced to death by now as per Shariah.
Wherein both will be those (maidens) restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them (Quran  55:56, Mushin)
