Watched Coco a couple days ago, and it's an excellent film. I can only think of a few flaws:
Other than that, it's one of the best films of last year, and it's no wonder that it became the top-grossing film in Mexican history after 2 1/2 weeks. And it's certainly interesting to see Gael Garcia Bernal as a voice actor.
- The color scheme, especially for the Land of the Dead scenes is pretty damn gaudy. At this point, I think it's reasonable to attribute my distaste for the loud colors (shockingly close to Problem Solverz levels) is at least partly due to my being a Gringo with different expectations on what color schemes should be.
- The extremely detailed wrinkles on Grandma Coco are downright unnerving.
- And related to the big twist at the end:
Other than that, it's one of the best films of last year, and it's no wonder that it became the top-grossing film in Mexican history after 2 1/2 weeks. And it's certainly interesting to see Gael Garcia Bernal as a voice actor.
