It would work. There's nothing to ''work.'' If people have a blog/journal, then they keep it going on their own, and if people wish to comment, they can. There would be no debate, but if people wished to engage in commentary, that's their choice, too. I posted on a diff site a few years back where the site gave the blogger permission to delete others' comments, that were inappropriate and insulting. Now, that could be great fun, here.

Yeah, I like it too. I generally support what the civility forum hopes to achieve, but I have some reservations too. This seems like the best of both worlds: not censoring the forum, yet having a space where people can articulate ideas in an out-of-the-way fashion.
Yea, and you don't ''join'' the blog section. It's simply there, click on the icon, and create a blog. And then, manage the blog, as you go along. I've used this feature on another site, and it works great. I've had controversial commentary at times, but it's all good. I welcome it.
