Hence my wonder about the dating of the site. There were all sorts of disputes between various xtian groups fighting for supremacy. Arianism - and he was a late 3d century figure - spread rapidly. They were literally murdering each other in the streets in the 5th century. And never forget what Celsus said late in the 2d century:

Actual Imperial persecution of xtians was limited to a span of 12 years and some of that wasn't even aimed at xtians. Far more likely they were hiding from murderous fellow jesus freaks. Can't trust those fuckers at all.
