Every subforum we have, barring ones with restrictions (i.e. debate forum, area 69, etc.) are popular enough to merit their existence. A lot of them were created because the demand for them was high, and people had already produced a lot of threads that could be moved there.
So, if you really want this subforum, create your blog thread in Off Topic, save a bookmark link to it so you don't lose track, or subscribe to it, keep it updated, and encourage people to do the same. When you can show that these kind of threads are popular and numerous enough to merit a separate subforum, let me know.
They already are. People just aren't calling them blogs. I think it's obvious it would be popular enough. People on the internet love to talk about themselves. Anyway, i guess I've made my case as much as I can on the topic.
