I second that, religion isn't the issue, masculinity is, in my eyes. Homosexuality goes against the norm and as such is unacceptable to people who think men should be manly and women be womanly.
And then those people find confirmation in whatever source they can, and if it's a holy book, all the better.
But again, christian theology does not say gays should be killed, or that ANYONE should be killed. All this Old Testament stuff doesn't come into the equation.
But some christians (and i say some, the fundies are a small minority) still want to justify their hatred, even if it means warping their own religion to fit their morals.
Blame the murderers, not the weapons they use.
