If anyone else but Trump had done 100th of the shit he and his crime family have done they'd have gone long ago.
It is all very strange.
Depends on your point of view. If you see Trump as the disease then something might happen to remove him. But if you see Trump as a symptom (as I do) of a much deeper and more deadly malady, one that is being ignored, then Trump is what one would expect of an empire in the last chapters of its decline. A decline that some might argue is not necessarily a bad thing if human kind is to have much of a future. We are the only nation on the planet that denies global climate change. We have, by far, the largest and most aggressive military (though it is - oddly - also one of the most inept). We routinely ignore international law and regularly carry out assassinations that also kill thousands of noncombatants. We are 5% of the world's population but consume nearly 25% of the world's energy production. (The planet's largest single consumer of oil, and thus - likely - its largest single contributor to global climate change, is the US military.) Our corporations spread corruption across the globe. We are a nation without a functioning health care system, that routinely abuses and ignores its veterans, that locks up the mentally ill in solitary confinement, that has the highest percentage of its population in jail (many of them serving years before they ever see a trial), and that underfunds and (to some degree) abhors education and educated people. Our police forces have been militarized to the point where they are indistinguishable from storm troops, and they routinely act as judge, jury, and executioner of American citizens who bleed out before they ever saw the inside of a courtroom.
It is, to me, a two sided question. Can this nation survive? Should this nation survive?
