Magic book certainly harbors a grudge against the first-born of Canaan, children of Ham...descendants of "Noah" himself and various worshippers of El since the neolothic.... for some ancient post-water themed offense, lol. Sidon being a namesake, Byblos of city of traitorous egyptian collaborators, and Tyre.....well...we all know how they felt about the dirty rednecks in the interior.
Regardless of whether or not they did bribe or hire the sea peoples..they certainly would have tried..and it would be the cultural and ethnic ancestors of the later pastoralist and levite sources that felt the brunt of that. The irony of all of this is that letting the physical history of the region be instructive as to the origins of the narrative in magic book contextualizes it and grants it sorely lacking credibility.....but thats the one thing anyone asserting that magic book is history as told simply cannot or will not do.
