Also, the apostle Paul specifically warns Christians to accept no other Gospel, not even one presented by an angel. Since Islam was dictated by the angel Gabriel it seems to fall into the category of a false gospel. Otherwise, I consider Muslims my brothers and sisters as children of God.
My problem with Islam, as a political movement, is that it runs counter to the principles necessary for a Western liberal democracy.
The Quran indicates a heavenly origin, Prophet Mohammed's claim about the book's authenticity can be tested through the applying of the book on reality. Demons cannot forge words that praise Prophet Jesus or Prophet Moses; sure thing they can't also take the form of an angel. The Quran contains explicit verses that say the nicest things about prophets before Mohammed, and demand utter loyalty and respect to them.
I assure to you that the Islam we see today from so many Islamic political movements is not Islam.

Do try to remember that it was the Enlightenment which gave us the Declaration of the Rights of Man while jesusism was extolling the Divine Right of Kings!
History is a weak subject for you, it seems.
It is true that the grip of the Church and Christian religious institution was more than bloody and extreme, and always in the favor of dictators and tyrants. Similar to the Islamic institution today, but stronger and richer.
