CL, out of all the theists here and as long as you have been here you should know better than that. This is not about human rights, but about the credibility of what you might claim.
Life does have meaning, I agree, but just not a supernatural meaning. I wasn't around 4 billion years ago, so why would life be any different for me 5 billion years from now?
My life has meaning to me now, while I am alive. But no, I am not so narcissistic as to think this planet or universe was all put here just for me, much less one species. The universe did not have me in it prior to 51 years ago, and I think it will go on fine without me. That does not mean I want to die now, it just means I accept I am not important in cosmic time.
