Oh of course you're right. That makes it so much more plausible all of a sudden. It was only one talking serpent rather than many of them. Much like there was only one talking donkey. But no doubt you'll say that it was because it was given the power of speech by a god so it's an exception. That makes it so much more plausible, especially when you have to consider what would be required to make that happen.

Wouldn't they just love to heavily revise the bible in an attempt to remain relevant and connect with the newer generations.
But by doing so, they have to admit that the bible is not the unchanging perfect word of God.
This is why it amazes me that Catholics just accept the pope making up new rules as he goes along.
