Fill out an FU-254 form, complete with US passport size photos of all asylum seekers, as well as a full criminal history report from their local police precinct. Then get that all notarized and send it to USCIS with a check for $768 dollars. Wait 6-8 months for processing, then fill out an FU-371B form and within another 6-8 months you should receive your border crossing papers.
The above is all bullshit but it's based on my own experience with immigration
IIRC, that's all spelled out (or left unchanged) from the Clinton era bipartisan Congressionally approved immigration bill.
That no subsequent congress has had members of either party propose and pass new legislation doesn't really reflect on Trump does it?
Nothing stopping anybody in Congress on Monday morning of proposing a bill to fix things, and a bill designed not for feigned and disingenuous outrage by the 'other ' party, but a bill with sufficient bipartisan support to pass.
That system has worked for over 2 centuries, why aren't we advocating for it's use now other than it's more fun (for both dems and pubs) to pwn the kids than to fix the fucking problem ??
Big mistake (IMO) earlier this year to not have jumped all over the proposal to take 1.8 MILLION kids/young people/dreamers out of the politics, and that idea was DOA.
I'm not falling for the feigned outrage and disingenuous outrage from the dems now when the currently active legislation was passed with their assent, and a decent chance at fixing it lapsed earlier this year because they'd rather have bargaining chips than to get the dreamers out of their goddamn political game.
Kids are involved, no place for intransigence and perfidy, especially that most odious and fetid variety; the kind based merely in calculations for political leverage.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
