RE: Atheists: What would you say to a dying child who asks you if they'll go to heaven?

If they're a believer I'd just let them believe. If they are that young (most likely lacking critical thinking skills) and dying, whats the point in causing additional trauma?
If they're older (capable of critical thought) I'd just turn it back on them and ask "What do you believe?" and take it from there.
It's not my goal to convert people to atheism. They can believe whatever they want to no matter how silly it seems to me. I wish more religious took this position regarding atheism but alas, most seem to be compelled to be dicks and assholes insisting that I validate their beliefs while they invalidate mine (or the lack there of).
