No matter that the Democrats’ early history on these issues is barely relevant today. The two parties slowly traded places on racial politics throughout the 20th century, a well-documented historical phenomenon D’Souza considers totally bogus. D’Souza tortures the data to claim simply that this switch never happened.
Presents no data.
To be fair, the discussion about the Democrats is completely beside the point and is a textbook example of whataboutism. Also, I think that it's pretty much common knowledge that the dems stand a little bit to the left than the republicans on social issues such as equality. Now, I may disagree with how they think racism is solved (more black trans woman CEOs instead of addressing the actual roots of institutionalised prejudice), but they're much better than the dog - whistling republicans. Literally a 5 seconds google takes to a very well sourced Wikipedia article that explained this very easily to me, an Italian with really not much knowledge of US politics or history.

And hell, if you won't take it from me, here it is straight from the horse's (elephant's?) mouth.
